Die Be- sehreibung der konkreten Erfordernisse ist daher das Leitthema. Auf pathogetisehe Hintergriinde wird nur eingegangen, wenn es zum Ver- standnis von Diagnose oder Therapie der Vergiftungen erforderlieh ist. Ich habe mieh nieht geseheut aueh einfaehe Handgriffe zu besehreiben, urn dem Anfanger das notige Rtistzeug zu geben; der Fortgesehrittene wird diese Stellen tiberlesen. Die Darstellung beruht auf Erfahrungen, die Sehwestern, Pfleger, Medi- ziniseh-teehnisehe Assistentinnen und Arzte unseres Zentrums ftir Ent- giftung und Giftinformation, II. Medizinisehe Klinik und Poliklinik der Universitat Mainz seit 1968 gesammelt haben. Ich moehte mieh bei ihnen allen bedanken, daB sie mir Gelegenheit gaben, die Erfahrungen in diesem Bueh zusammenzufassen. Mein spezieller Dank gilt dem Leiter der Klinik, Herrn Prof. Dr. P. Seholmerieh, der die Klinisehe Toxikologie in allen Bereiehen stark ge- fordert hat, der leitenden Krankensehwester der Intensivstation Frau H.
