Tape Replacement with Carbon Fibers by C Burri
The injuries to the knee ligament apparatus have steadily increased in recent years. At the same time, our knowledge of the special anatomy of this joint, pathophysiology, diagnostics and therapy of the consequences of trauma has expanded considerably. It is now agreed worldwide that a ligament injury with instability requires anatomical reconstruction. Through this procedure, a success rate of urn 90% can be achieved in fresh cases. The prognosis for chronic instability is far more cautious. The numerous surgical procedures that have gone through the literature over the years reveal a certain uncertainty and dissatisfaction with what has been achieved in each case. We ourselves had quite good results with local ligament replacement, but like many others, we had to find a larger number of secondary instabilities during late checks - probably due to increasing stretching of the structures. For more than 8 years, we have therefore been working in close contact with centres in England (Jenkins), France (Lemaire), Siidafrika (Strover) and the USA (Alexander, Weiss) on the replacement of ligaments by carbon fibres. This material has excellent biomechanical properties and an exceptionally high level of biocompatibility, but unfortunately also a high degree of fragility in the case of a small radius. The coating of the bands, their separation during intra-articular application and surgical features can significantly reduce the risk of rupture. We are far from recommending carbon fiber tapes as the only "true" material today, but we are encouraged by the permanent results observed to continue in this field.| ISBN 13 | 9783540154327 |

"I was paying $11.99/month for Kindle Unlimited but realized I was renting books, not owning them. Bought this PDF and it's mine forever. Never going back to Kindle."
"Switched from Kindle to these PDFs. Same book, but I actually OWN it now. No monthly fees, no app required. Worth every penny."
"Kindle Unlimited kept raising prices. This is a one-time purchase and the file is permanently on my iPad. Best decision I've made for my reading habit."
"I compared Kindle vs this store. Kindle is cheaper monthly but you don't own anything. Here I paid once and the PDF is mine for life. Highly recommend."
"Left Kindle behind after they removed a book I was reading mid-series. With this PDF, nobody can take it away from me. True ownership feels good."
"Was skeptical about paying $18.95 when Kindle shows $3.99, but then I did the math — Kindle Unlimited is $143/year! This is way better value long term."
"Love that I can read this on any device without installing the Kindle app. The PDF works on my laptop, phone, and tablet seamlessly. So much freedom."
"My Kindle subscription was getting expensive. Switched to buying PDFs here and I'm saving money while actually building a permanent digital library I control."
