The plan on which this book was originally based was that of a handbook. . The great importance that tuberculosis research has always had and the enormous upswing it has been granted for about 25 years could justify such an idea. Pathological anatomy has also taken up and worked on many new problems during this time. But a large number of tuberculosis researchers had to stay away from it out of necessity. To give them a work in which they could learn about one of the most important foundations of tuberculosis research therefore seemed an attractive task. However, after long and painstaking preparatory work, it turned out that the original plan was not well executable. In the first place, a straightforward treatment of the pathological anatomy of tuberculosis, which the existing literature wanted to grasp as completely as possible, almost exceeded the strength of an individual, or at least required so much time that large parts were already outdated by the time the work appeared. A second reason, however, caused me to change the plan to a much greater extent. Every pathologist will be convinced with me that he has such a great treasure trove of experience, especially in the field of tuberculosis, that he could never be embarrassed in lessons, demonstrations, etc., and that he would also be able - apart from the difficulties mentioned - to work on the whole field or a part of it manually.| ISBN 13 | 9783642985409 |
