Das Gebiet der intravenosen Ernahrung liegt heute im Brennpunkt des und zwar sowohl des Theoretikers als auch des Klinikers. Interesses, Durch intensives Arbeiten sind in den letzten Jahren groBe Fortschritte erzielt worden. Das diesjahrige Symposion behandelte das Thema: Parenterale Ernah- rung. Es sollte eine Fortsetzung des Symposions sein, das von der Deutschen Gesellschaft fur Ernahrung mit dem gleichen Thema vor zwei Jahren in Mainz abgehalten wurde. Wir sind seiner Magnifizenz, dem Herrn Rektor Prof. Dr. H. LEICHER, seiner Spektabilitat, dem Herrn Dekan Prof. Dr. K. THOMSEN, und dem Hausherrn, Herrn Prof. Dr. H. BREDT, zu Dank verpflichtet, daB sie dieses Symposion im Rahmen der Universitat ermoglicht haben. An dem Sym- posion nahmen Vertreter mehrerer Lander (Australien, Danemark, Frank- reich, Japan, Schweden, Schweiz) teil. Wir danken den auslandischen Kollegen, die den Weg zu uns gefunden haben, urn mit ihren Beitragen das Symposion zu bereichern. Besonderer Dank gebuhrt den Herren V orsitzenden Prof. M. ALL- GOWER (Chur), Prof. F. KUMMERLE (Mainz) und Prof. J. LASSNER (Paris), daB sie den wissenschaftlichen Teil des Symposions auf hervorragende Weise gefuhrt und zum Erfolg mit beigetragen haben. Wir sind der Meinung, daB der Gedankenaustausch zwischen den Ver- tretern der experimentellen und der klinischen Medizin auf diesem Sym- posion viele gemeinsame Probleme deutlich werden lieB, von denen einige gelost und viele noch ungeklart sind.
