Hygiene in intensive care units by H Langmaack
The incidence of nosocomial, i.e. hospital-acquired infections, has increased steadily in recent years. This does not mean that hospital staff have become more hygienically compliant, but that our patients, especially in intensive care units, are becoming more and more susceptible to infections and that the interventions we have to carry out on them to enable them to survive are causing an ever greater risk of infection. At the same time, we have had to accept in recent years that various measures, some of which were very complex and expensive (e.g. conversions, locks, room disinfection at regular intervals) did not bring the success we had hoped for, namely a reduction in the infection rate. Other measures, such as hand washing and hand disinfection, careful nursing techniques, disinfection of instruments and ventilators, sterilization, play a far more important role in infection control. In addition to the latter method, we have given a relatively large amount of space to isolating infected patients, as this measure can demonstrably reduce the risk of infection, even if many of the diseases mentioned occur only rarely in intensive care units. We have not agreed on antibiotics, although infection control is difficult without restricting the use of antibiotics, especially for untargeted prophylaxis. We have dealt with this topic in detail in another book. We would like to ask the readers of this book to give us indications as to where we could add additions or improvements so that we can remain as practical as possible and update the new edition accordingly.| ISBN 13 | 9783540106029 |

"I was paying $11.99/month for Kindle Unlimited but realized I was renting books, not owning them. Bought this PDF and it's mine forever. Never going back to Kindle."
"Switched from Kindle to these PDFs. Same book, but I actually OWN it now. No monthly fees, no app required. Worth every penny."
"Kindle Unlimited kept raising prices. This is a one-time purchase and the file is permanently on my iPad. Best decision I've made for my reading habit."
"I compared Kindle vs this store. Kindle is cheaper monthly but you don't own anything. Here I paid once and the PDF is mine for life. Highly recommend."
"Left Kindle behind after they removed a book I was reading mid-series. With this PDF, nobody can take it away from me. True ownership feels good."
"Was skeptical about paying $18.95 when Kindle shows $3.99, but then I did the math — Kindle Unlimited is $143/year! This is way better value long term."
"Love that I can read this on any device without installing the Kindle app. The PDF works on my laptop, phone, and tablet seamlessly. So much freedom."
"My Kindle subscription was getting expensive. Switched to buying PDFs here and I'm saving money while actually building a permanent digital library I control."
