Dieses Buch beschreibt die Pharmakologie des Histamins. Wir haben dieser die Physiologie des Histamins und der histamin- hnlichen Stoffe folgen lassen. Darunter verstehen wir diejenigen Regulationen und Reaktionen des Organismus, von denen wir annehmen m ssen, da sie auf dem Freiwerden solcher Stoffe in den Geweben beruhen. Physiologie und Pharmakologie greifen auf diesem Gebiet, wie so oft in der Humoralphysiologie, in- einander ber und befruchten sich gegenseitig. Wissenschaftliche Forschung ist mehr oder weniger Gemein- schaftsarbeit. Wir hatten den Vorzug mit einer Reihe in- und ausl ndischer Kollegen zusammen zu arbeiten. Ihnen hier f r ihre unentwegte .Mitarbeit zu danken, bedeutet gleichzeitig die Erinnerung an gemeinsam erlebtes neues Wissen. Wir danken weiter der Notgemeinschaft der deutschen Wissen- schaft, mit deren Unterst tzung wir die hier von uns zum ersten- mal ver ffentlichten Versuche ausf hren konnten.
