Ais am 29. September 1933 mein Vater starb, lag die Niederschrift dieses Handbuch- beitrages, an dem er wahrend der letzten 12 Jahre seines Lebens taglich gearbeitet hatte, bis auf vier Abschnitte druckfertig vor. Diese vier Abschnitte: Die EinfluBnahme des peripheren Nervensystems auf die Betriebsregulierung der glatten Muskulatur im weiblichen Genitale; Die Ursa chen der funktionellen Storungen der hoheren Nerventatigkeit (GroB- hirnrindentatigkeit) und ihre Bedeutung fUr die Pathogenese von Betriebsstorungen im weiblichen Genitale; Die Pathogenese der neural bedingten Betriebsstorungen im weiblichen Genitale; Die Diagnostik der neural bedingten Betriebsstorungen im weiblichen Genitale waren im Entwurf vorhanden und harrten einer eingehenden Umarbeitung, die leider nicht mehr durchgefUhrt werden konnte. lch habe mich lediglich darauf beschrankt, diese Teile stilistisch zu uberarbeiten, ohne inhaltliche Anderungen, zu denen ich die Kompetenz nicht besessen, vorzunehmen. Trotz dieses Mangels habe ich mich, im Ein- verstandnis mit Herrn Geheimrat Stoeckel, zu der Herausgabe der Arbeit entschlossen. Dafur, daB Herr Geheimrat Stoeckel mir die Herausgabe der letzten groBen Arbeit meines Vaters anvertraut hat, mochte ich ihm an dieser Stelle meinen herzlichsten Dank aussprechen. Mein Vater hat in dem vorlaufigen lnhaltsverzeichnis, das er mir kurz vor seinem Tode zeigte, vor der Einleitung einen Abschnitt vorgesehen, den er mit Dank iiber- schrieben hat. Sein Dank gilt vor allem seinen Kollegen der Medizinischen Fakultat Zurich, vorab dem Vertreter der Physiologie, Professor W. R.
