During the systematic study of such reactions, the laws of postural reflexes were established. To this then followed in logical connection the others. which gradually taught us to know a complicated and extremely finely tuned system of body posture reflexes. Over the years, the Utrecht Pharmacological Institute has published a large number of individual publications on this subject, so that it is not easy for others to know about it. In addition, when the first papers were written, much was still unknown, which only became accessible to the interpretation as the insight progressed, so that one and the same physiological mechanism had to be analysed again and again in works that were separated in time. The whole investigation, as one can now convince oneself by reading this book, is by no means finished. But it is encouraged, because you can overlook the big lines.
