Arthrodesis of the hip joint and its problems by R Liechti
Until ten years ago, surgical fusion was considered the therapy of choice for the treatment of painful, unilaterally partially stiffened or severely incongruent hiifte. With the correct indication and surgical technique, a stable, pain-free hip joint was achieved, with which most patients were very satisfied. Today, almost every patient and unfortunately also some orthopaedic surgeons believes that total dentures can be implanted without hesitation in relatively young patients. However, disappointments will not be long in coming, because patients under the age of five will strain their pain-free chest joints so much, despite all medical admonitions, that after only a few years some cemented joint bodies will curl up. A prosthesis can be replaced once or even twice, but what then? In 1970, a collective work of the nine major orthopaedic clinics in Switzerland critically analysed the results of intertrochanteric osteotomy with regard to pain, walking ability, mobility and ability to work. Guidelines for indication, choice of procedure and surgical technique have been developed. A collective work of Switzerland. Society for Orthopaedics will soon compile the late results of the total prosthesis for the third to tenth year after the procedure and evaluate them according to similar criteria. Over the last fifteen years, the technique of arthrodesis has changed fundamentally. While in 1958 no one had believed that a hiiftarthrodesis could be diagnosed without a plaster cast, at various clinics only six years later most hiiftarthrodesis were treated with the double plate or the cross plate and immediately functionally treated.| ISBN 13 | 9783662066263 |

"I compared Kindle vs this store. Kindle is cheaper monthly but you don't own anything. Here I paid once and the PDF is mine for life. Highly recommend."
"Left Kindle behind after they removed a book I was reading mid-series. With this PDF, nobody can take it away from me. True ownership feels good."

"My Kindle subscription was getting expensive. Switched to buying PDFs here and I'm saving money while actually building a permanent digital library I control."
