103rd Congress of the German Society of Surgery Munich, April 23–26, 1986 by J Seifert
This year's forum was put together from a similarly large number of registrations as in previous years. Almost a third of the abstracts were accepted by the Scientific Advisory Board after anonymous review. As in previous years, the reasons for acceptance were special originality, lack of advance publication, careful drafting of the abstract, high clinical relevance and, last but not least, impeccable formal and content-related description. The heavyweights have continued to shift in favour of surgical oncology and the liver, gall bladder and pancreas areas. The topics of surgery of the circulatory organs and the areas of the stomach and intestines show a slight decline, while perioperative pathophysiology and intensive care medicine remain quantitatively and qualitatively strongly represented. It is striking that a number of important areas of surgery are still hard to find and should be taken up more in the future, such as surgical infection theory, surgical immunology, endocrinology and the use of clintric organs. In particular, the Forum Committee would like to thank Professor SCHOBER (Halle), who wrote the biography of the tragic fate of the extremely imaginative young surgeon ERNST JEGER. The timely publication of the FORUM volume on the 103rd Congress of the German Society of Surgery was again made possible by the energetic commitment of the employees of the SPRINGER VERLAG, especially Mr. H. Schwaninger, and the secretaries Mrs. M. Harms, Mrs. I. Jebram, Mrs. R. Glasbrenner.| ISBN 13 | 9783540165071 |

"I was paying $11.99/month for Kindle Unlimited but realized I was renting books, not owning them. Bought this PDF and it's mine forever. Never going back to Kindle."
"Switched from Kindle to these PDFs. Same book, but I actually OWN it now. No monthly fees, no app required. Worth every penny."
"Kindle Unlimited kept raising prices. This is a one-time purchase and the file is permanently on my iPad. Best decision I've made for my reading habit."
"I compared Kindle vs this store. Kindle is cheaper monthly but you don't own anything. Here I paid once and the PDF is mine for life. Highly recommend."
"Left Kindle behind after they removed a book I was reading mid-series. With this PDF, nobody can take it away from me. True ownership feels good."
"Was skeptical about paying $18.95 when Kindle shows $3.99, but then I did the math — Kindle Unlimited is $143/year! This is way better value long term."
"Love that I can read this on any device without installing the Kindle app. The PDF works on my laptop, phone, and tablet seamlessly. So much freedom."
"My Kindle subscription was getting expensive. Switched to buying PDFs here and I'm saving money while actually building a permanent digital library I control."
